Art: God’s Amazing Creation

You might look at this painting of a sailfish and pick it completely apart, but for me, I am amazed.
I know that I couldn’t have done such a painting as this if it had not been for the Ultimate Creator.  He is the one who gave us such beauty to look at and enjoy.  Without this fish, this water, the amazing sky He created, I never would have been able to accomplish this piece on my own.
Nature is such a miraculous thing.  I am so thankful for God giving it to us.  I am thankful for more reasons than just admiring the beauty of it all and learning from it, I get to use it for subjects to paint.  I know there are others out there who see the awesome beauty in nature and how God speaks to us through it’s beauty.  I wonder though, am I doing anything with my art to help reach those who might not know who God is, or that may have strayed away from Him somehow?
After all it is God’s Creation that I am trying to duplicate here.  It those who aren’t fortunate enough to ever get to see a scene like this in reality, I wonder if seeing this picture would awe them, maybe just a little.
I try to recreate a nature scene as best I can as it would look in reality.  Now I know that is impossible, all I can do is try. 
My hope is that someone, somewhere might take a look at this painting and one thought come to mind; God is the Creator.
I know that I can never duplicate any of God’s creation with the magnificence and beauty that He has done, but I can try.
As a matter of fact, it is quite amazing to me that I can do this.  I’m just me, I have the desire to serve the Lord through my painting, I have the passion for the beauty.  God is giving me the skills as I attempt to be an artist for the Lord, teaching myself as He holds my hand.
I am not outspoken, I am a pretty quite person.  I wondered how I could serve the Lord and witness for Him.  He gave me art.
I thank Him and will continue to learn and grow as an artist in hopes that someday, somewhere He will use something I have painted to touch a heart.

Art: God’s Incredible Sky

 

Of all the different things I admire in God’s Creation, the sky has to be the one scene that constantly takes my breath away.  No matter what time of the day or the weather, the sky always seems to have a mysterious magnificence about it.  I love to put the sky in my paintings, it’s a personal thing for me.  It makes me feel like I am including God.

Most of all though, taking God’s Word literally, this is where we will see Him return, the sky.  We are suppose to be watching. 

Isn’t it wonderful that He gave us such a beautiful view to look at while watching for His return.  And if it takes our breath away now, imagine when we see Him coming for us!

Art: God is Always There

As I worked on this painting, putting little dots of fall colors in the trees, I thought of moments in our lives that God has blessed us.  Each dot that is suppose to represent the leaves also represented to me, memorial moments God has given to me.  For times in our lives where memories are all we have of some of the people we love, we do at least have our memories.

While placing each little leaf on each tree, the bright leaves made me think of the wonderful times with each of my children.  As I put the darker colored leaves on the trees,  I thought of sad or stressful times in my life I wish sometimes I could forget.  I tend to dwell on the darker times, but as I painted each leaf, I realized that there are just as many great and wonderful memories as there were, not so wonderful memories.

So I asked myself why would I dwell on the negative?  The negative makes the positive all the more better and all the more brighter and all the more wonderful.  Even though, as I looked at the outcome with quite a bit of dark, it is overcome with a beautiful veil of the sky.  This bright sky makes me think of how God is there all the time.  We are so busy looking at all the moments and letting the negative take us over that we forget, He is always there, hovering over all those moments and loving us.  We forget to look up and remember that He is in control.  All the bright and dark leaves are necessary in our lives.  Mixed together they make a beautiful landscape, a beautiful life that God gives to all of us.  The striking contrast in the sky against the land still all blend together to make one wonderful life with God in it and in control of it all.

So don’t forget to look up, thank God, look at the bright side.  No matter how many dark leaves there have been in your life, there are still the bright ones to dwell on and be thankful for.  There is still that bright and wonderful sky, God is still there, always there, blending it all together for good.

Back to the Art

So here’s the dilemma with my painting.  Maybe you can help me.  It seems I am always doing something, out of the ordinary,  not the standard, traditional way others have always done it.  Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.  And so I have this…………………

I have a pretty picture that probably should have been on canvas, but I wanted to put it on wood (paint sticks) and in a frame I would paint myself (stretcher strips).
